Anastasia Brow Genius Kit Review/Tutorial

Ahhhh, here it is.  The gorgeous Anastasia Brow Genius Kit.  Highly revered by beauty bloggers and makeup artists alike, this was my first big splurge of the season.

Here's my review of this kit.

What's it made of?
This brow kit comes with a clear, waterproof gel, loose brow powder, and a spoolie/applicator brush combo.

Mine is in the shade Medium Brown, so it's a bit lighter than the Brunette shade.  I'd say this is a good shade for light to medium brunettes, and the Brunette shade, Anastasia's darker one, is good for those with dark brown to black hair.  Though, it all depends on how bold you like your brows to be.

This kit WILL make your brows thick, dark, and bold, so if that's not your cup of tea, I'd say this isn't the kit for you.

How's the quality?
Anastasia is a high end brand, and its products absolutely are high quality.  The waterproof gel is just that-- waterproof --and will NOT budge in the slightest.  The powder is quite highly pigmented, very dark and finely milled.  It's incredibly easy to mix with the gel, but make sure to work quickly!  The gel hardens quite fast, so a quick application is best.  It goes on smooth, clings to the natural hairs of your brows, and won't budge once it's in place.  The best way to remove this (both from the brows and the applicator) is with waterproof eye makeup remover.  I use Neutrogena's Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover.  ($5.99, Ulta)

What's the verdict?
This kit is perfect for me, or anyone who loves bold, thick, defined brows.  It's rather simple to use, and once you get the hang of it, pretty foolproof!  I'd say if you're in the market for a new brow kit, and you feel like splurging, Anastasia Brow Genius Kit is a pretty good one to pick up.

Now for the fun bit.  Here's my tutorial!

Alrighty, before we begin, make sure your brows are tweezed or waxed or shaped the way you like them.

First step, take the spoolie brush and groom through your brows, brushing the hairs into place.

Get out your tube of the brow gel.

It'll look a little something like this on the back of your hand.

Next, grab the small bottle of loose brow powder.

Give it a couple of shakes on top of the small dab of gel.

Mix it up with the small applicator brush.  It'll be a bit thick, kind of like the consistency of chocolate icing.

Next, dip your brush into the gel mixture and begin to draw a thin line along the underside of your brow, following its arch.

Repeat for the top half, so it looks like you've outlined your brow.

Start filling in the middle and lightly filling in the front ends of your brow.  This is the face of pure concentration.

Hey, looking good.

Now repeat these steps for the opposite brow.

And, boom.  Look at you.  Full, defined brows are easier than they're made out to be!  I really love using this product.  Killer brows are always a great feeling.  Try it for yourself if you like!  Until then,

xxoo,
Alexis
